3rd day of our travels

January 13th 2013

Woke up a bit late this morning because we are still adjusting to the time zone, but never the less you are set for the journey ahead. Some biscuits and cheese from our plane trip for breakfast and all system go!

Today we make our way to the island of Samui. We aren't to sure how but with all Sheri's research we're sure to get there!

The Tanamas House reception dropped us across the road from the airport and the car rental agent. They charge more to drop the car at Surathani Airport than they do to hire it for six days, looks like it's the bus for us!

The rental car agent arranged a taxi to take us to the bus station. (Bus 'station, looks like bus stop!) From there we boarded a bus at R80 a person. The bus will take us 5 hours to reach another station where we will take a mini bus to the port which is a hour and half away, from there the boat trip is another one and a half hour to Samui and our last leg of the trip is 45 mins by taxi to where we will be staying at Crystal Bay Resort.

Our taxi driver is very chatty so we learn a few interesting facts of the town and potential sites to visit, we arrive at about 20:30 to find that there is a walk street on (art in the park) they have all these stalls in the road.
Time to try some Thai food, baby squid on the " braai" and some crumbed pawns next spring roll and pad thai and to finish off some sweet and sour chicken all washed down with good beer and cocktails!
